PIPING PLOVERS

Nish and Nellie plus their offspring provided a lot of entertainment the summer of 2021. The first nest in Ohio in 83 years proved to be a success. Look up Maumee Bay Piping Plovers on the internet and read their amazing story. Hope to see them again next year. Lot's of thanks to the people from Black Swamp Bird Observatory and their volunteers for keeping track of them.

Piping Plovers

These images show one of the early flights of Kickapoo, one of the four young born at Maumee Bay. KIckapoo unfortunately was lost to predation but not before having the opportunity to learn to fly and enjoy buzzing two siblings who had buried themselves in the sand for camouflage.
